Nichol McKay is a second-generation family-owned company with an impressive 40 year track record as a strategic supplier of products, assemblies and components to leading global manufacturers.

Nichol McKay’s impressive 130,000 sq ft manufacturing complex at Prestwick International Airport is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and assemblers of high quality engineering products and components.

From design to delivery, Nichol McKay provides a complete turnkey service including fabrication, machining, assembly and finishing for blue chip customers producing power generation sets, materials handling equipment and off highway/construction equipment as well as to new customers in diverse areas such as life sciences.  The business has a focus on continuing investment in machinery, systems and people and currently employs 160 people at the Prestwick site.

To support continued growth and success with existing and new customers, the business is now looking to appoint an Operations Manager to drive sustainable change in a busy manufacturing environment.  The Operations Manager will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for:

  • The management, supervision and control of all production processes
  • Development of people and processes
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence through KPIs in productivity, yield, health & safety and quality
  • Significantly contributing as an integral player in the Management Team
